Guardian Ring · India · transparent development status

A personal safety smart ring for India should do more than send a notification.

Designed for everyone—from students and commuters to travellers, workers and older adults—a discreet ring can shorten the time needed to start an SOS. The real outcome still depends on connectivity, live location and people who can respond.

Short answer

What is a safety smart ring?

It is wearable safety jewellery designed to make an emergency trigger easier to reach than a phone screen.

A safety smart ring is not automatically a standalone rescue device. Many ring-size wearables use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to tell a nearby phone to start the SOS workflow. The phone then provides network connectivity, location, permissions and the companion app. A ring can improve access to the trigger; the end-to-end system determines whether help moves.
01 · DISCREET

A reachable emergency control

A press or tap pattern can be easier to use without taking out or unlocking a phone. The pattern must resist accidental triggers while remaining usable under stress.

02 · CONFIRMED

Feedback the wearer can feel

Vibration or another private acknowledgement should confirm that the command was received. Otherwise the wearer may not know whether to try again.

03 · CONNECTED

A complete response path

The ring-to-phone link is only step one. Location, alert delivery, acceptance, escalation and safe confirmation all need their own tested workflow.

Product distinction

Fitness smart ring and safety smart ring are different jobs.

A fitness ring is normally optimised for passive sensing. A safety ring is optimised for reliable intentional activation and response.

End-to-end design

How the Guardian Ring workflow is designed to work.

The current prototype validates the first connection. The functional Guardian software carries the alert through the response workflow.

STEP 01Press or tapA deliberate gesture starts the SOS trigger
STEP 02BLE to phoneThe paired Android phone receives the trigger
STEP 03Location + alertGuardian opens an incident and shares current context
STEP 04Nearby responseEligible responders and trusted contacts are notified
STEP 05Escalate safelyRadius expansion and official emergency escalation remain available
Phone-connected design: the validated Guardian trigger prototype uses BLE. That means the paired phone, app permissions, Bluetooth, phone battery and network path matter. JayQora does not describe the current breadboard prototype as a standalone cellular ring.

Before you choose

Six checks for any SOS ring in India.

A small form factor creates real engineering trade-offs. Ask for testable answers.

01

Activation reliability

Can the gesture be completed one-handed, and does it work while walking, running or carrying something?

02

Accidental activation

Does the ring balance a deliberate gesture with a short, safe cancellation process?

03

Connection visibility

Can the wearer see if the ring is paired, disconnected or low on battery before an emergency?

04

Battery and charging

What is the measured battery life under normal use, and how clearly are low-power states communicated?

05

Response ownership

Who receives the alert, who accepts it and what happens if nobody nearby responds?

06

Availability proof

Is the photographed ring a shipping product, an industrial design, a prototype enclosure or a concept render?

A safety ring should complement India’s emergency services.

Guardian is designed to improve the path from a discreet trigger to useful context and nearby response. For an emergency requiring police, fire or ambulance support, India’s unified emergency number is 112. JayQora does not position a private wearable as a replacement for official services.

Common questions

Safety smart ring FAQs.

Straight answers about connectivity, availability and emergency use.

Can a personal safety smart ring work without a phone?

Only if it contains and supports its own communication system. Many small safety rings use BLE and a paired phone. Guardian’s current validated wearable trigger is phone-connected; standalone cellular and LoRa options are roadmap research.

Does a Bluetooth safety ring share GPS location?

The ring itself may only send the trigger. In a phone-connected system, the companion phone usually supplies GPS location and mobile connectivity. The complete app permissions and background workflow must be tested.

Is JayQora Guardian Ring available in India?

Not as a retail product today. The Guardian software is functional and a BLE breadboard trigger prototype works. Production ring engineering, certification, manufacturing and field validation still need to be completed.

What happens after the Guardian Ring starts an SOS?

The intended flow is ring trigger, paired-phone activation, incident creation, live location and context, targeted responder notification, radius expansion when needed, and escalation to trusted contacts or official emergency services.

Is a safety ring better than a safety app?

They solve different parts of the problem. A ring can make the trigger easier to reach. The app supplies location, communications and response coordination. A connected combination can be stronger than either element by itself.
